Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Springfield's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Springfield won the last time they faced Streetsboro and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Spartans put the hurt on the Rockets with a sharp 11-1 victory. Considering the Spartans have won seven matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Bre Ruggiero, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Kendall Wilderman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Springfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Streetsboro only posted an OBP of .333.

Springfield has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Streetsboro, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-4 record.
