The Rim of the World Fighting Scots were the 62-57 winner over the Kaiser Cats when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. Rim of the World was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 64-63 to Kaiser. Rim of the World has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Rim of the World still got an impressive performance from Ethan Thornburg, who scored 28 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thornburg has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Urquiza, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 18 rebounds.
Rim of the World has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Kaiser, their win ended a 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-17.
Rim of the World will head out on the road to challenge Bloomington at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kaiser, Kaiser and Carter will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Carter presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Kaiser in California (Carter is ranked 524th, while Kaiser is ranked 1214th).
