Bishop Carroll came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Derby Panthers. The Golden Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Keira Stripling spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Emerson May was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kiersten Jones, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Bishop Carroll's win bumped their record up to 6-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Derby beat the Golden Eagles by a score of 8-7 later that day.
