The Belvidere Bucs will venture away from home to square off against the Woodstock Blue Streaks at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Belvidere will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
On Wednesday, Belvidere needed a bit of extra time to put away Jefferson. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the J-Hawks, sneaking past 9-8.
Nathan Steurer made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Steurer was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Frankie Freeman was incredible, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emmett Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Belvidere kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Woodstock came into Tuesday's game having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Woodstock North by a score of 4-1 on Tuesday.
Woodstock let Cayden Holtzee and Landen Stoltz run wild. Holtzee went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI, while Stoltz went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Holtzee is becoming a predictor of Woodstock's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 2-15 when he doesn't). Angelo Pacini was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Belvidere's record is now 6-17. As for Woodstock, their record now sits at 5-15.
Belvidere suffered a grim 20-9 defeat to Woodstock in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Bucs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
