Brookstone had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Westfield School on Thursday. The Cougars never let the Hornets get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by seven runs or more this season.

Mercer Hudson was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Charles Briscoe, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

The win (which was Brookstone's fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-5. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.25 runs across that stretch. As for Westfield School, they now have a losing record of 13-14.

Coming up, Brookstone will welcome Southwest Georgia Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Westfield School does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
