The Trinity Christian Trojans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 45-33 to Coram Deo Academy. While losing is never fun, Trinity Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1016th, while Coram Deo Academy is ranked 464th).
Coram Deo Academy found their leader in underclassman Selah Johnson, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. The matchup was Johnson's 21st in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Campbell Skelly, who scored 12 points.
Trinity Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Coram Deo Academy, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 15-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity Christian will take on Parish Episcopal at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Coram Deo Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Lake Country Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Country Christian will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
