Living Word Lutheran suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They fell just short of The Prairie School by a score of 74-71. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Wednesday (67), Living Word Lutheran still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Living Word Lutheran got a solid performance out of Easton Oliver, who scored 33 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Oliver has scored all season. Eric Britton was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six assists and two steals.
Brookfield Academy pushed their record up to 11-0 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 51 points. As for Living Word Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.
Everything came up roses for Brookfield Academy against Living Word Lutheran when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 68-36 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brookfield Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
