The Windsor Charter Academy Firebirds had to kick off their season on the road on Wednesday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against Dawson School as Windsor Charter Academy made off with a 60-37 win. That's another feather in the cap for Windsor Charter Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Windsor Charter Academy to victory were Andrew Schams and Kellen Ball. Schams scored 17 points along with 4 steals, while Ball scored 21 points along with 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Brayden Cole, who scored 8 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals.
Jackson Parker and Peter Ernst certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Parker scored 13 points, while Ernst dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Windsor Charter Academy's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Dawson School, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Windsor Charter Academy will head out on the road to face off against Liberty Common at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Liberty Common focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Wednesday. As for Dawson School, they will be playing at home against DSST: College View at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully DSST: College View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Saturday.
