The Eastmark Firebirds will head out to take on the Douglas Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Eastmark is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Eastmark beat Poston Butte 13-9. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Firebirds.

Austin Snyder was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Thomas Joesten, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Eastmark's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 6-12 when he doesn't). Jack Rosales was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Eastmark kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 4-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Douglas entered their tilt with Cholla on Wednesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They put the hurt on the Chargers with a sharp 8-2 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.
Douglas saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trase Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.
Douglas pushed their record up to 15-8-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Eastmark, their record now sits at 8-13.
Eastmark suffered a grim 11-3 defeat to Douglas in their previous meeting back in February. Can the Firebirds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
