Basketball Recap: Ceiba College Preparatory Academy Takes a Loss

Ceiba College Preparatory Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 64-33 loss at the hands of the Pajaro Valley Grizzlies. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 62-20 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Ceiba College Preparatory Academy still got an impressive performance from Anthony Toriz, who went 8 of 17 en route to 21 points and five steals. The game was Toriz's fourth in a row with at least ten points.

Ceiba College Preparatory Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Pajaro Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-7.

Ceiba College Preparatory Academy will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Kirby Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Ceiba College Preparatory Academy is facing Kirby Prep at the right time seeing as Kirby Prep is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Pajaro Valley, they will head out to take on York at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Pajaro Valley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
