The Suwannee Bulldogs will head out to challenge the Columbia Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Columbia will be up against a hot Suwannee team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Suwannee blew past Newberry 9-3 on Wednesday.
Suwannee got a great performance from Grayson Greene as he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. What's more, Greene posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February.

On the hitting side, Jace Moran and Kyler Watson did most of the damage at the plate: Moran scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Watson scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Watson a new career-high in RBI (three). W. Grayson Bonds also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Suwannee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Columbia never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Eagle's View as Columbia made off with an 11-0 victory. The contest marked the Tigers' most dominant win of the season.
Trayce McKenzie was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madden Mann, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Keegan Knight, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and two RBI.
The victory (which was Columbia's third in a row) raised their record to 10-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Suwannee, their record now sits at 11-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Suwannee has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Columbia struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
