Volleyball Recap: Bishop Watterson Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Bishop Watterson was the 3-1 winner over St. Francis DeSales when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stallions on Tuesday.

The 3-1 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Bishop Watterson lost were decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 27-25, 21-25, 25-23, 25-23.

Despite the loss, Bishop Watterson saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jack Spiers had 11 digs and one assist. Spiers is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Bishop Watterson's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5. As for St. Francis DeSales, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-10 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Bishop Watterson and St. Charles will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on the 23rd. As for St. Francis DeSales, they will head out to challenge Westerville South at 6:30 p.m. on the 23rd.
