The Milby Buffs struggled with assists on Monday (the Sterling Raiders had 16 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Milby was dealt a 81-39 loss at the hands of the Raiders. Milby has struggled against the Raiders recently, as their contest on Monday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Milby lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jacob Carrizalez. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Delani Pestaina was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Christian Rogers was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with six assists and five rebounds for Sterling. Another player making a difference was Irving Beteta, who scored ten points along with two blocks.
Milby has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season. As for Sterling, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-7.
Milby will head out on the road to challenge the Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sterling, they will be playing at home against the Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Waltrip has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 545 points over their last eight games.
