This season hasn't been kind to the Purchase Line Red Dragons, who are still winless after their eighth matchup. They took a 49-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Penns Manor. Purchase Line found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 22 to 7 on offense.
Despite the defeat, Purchase Line had strong showings from Brock Small, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds, and AJ Chambers, who scored eight points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him.
Penns Manor's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alex Polenik, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds. The contest was Polenik's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Cooper, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Purchase Line bumped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Penns Manor, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Purchase Line will be home for the holidays to greet River Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully River Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday. Penns Manor and Marion Center will face off at 7:15 p.m. on December 21st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Pennsylvania (Marion Center is ranked 484th, while Penns Manor is ranked 461st).
