South Lake hasn't had much luck against Eustis recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. The last three games South Lake has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
While South Lake's victory against Forest wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles won by a run and slipped past the Wildcats 7-6. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by just one run.

Zoie Rogers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Makiah Palacio, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Zoe Sheffield, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Eustis never got on the board in their matchup on Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Umatilla on Friday. They blew past the Bulldogs 14-4. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by ten runs or more this season.
Carson Roden looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
On the hitting side, Eustis got a massive performance out of Brooklyn Powhida, who scored five runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-4. Those five runs gave Powhida a new career-high. Ella Fleming also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Eustis was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Umatilla only posted a batting average of .208.
South Lake is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Eustis, their record now sits at 12-4.
South Lake skirted past Eustis 3-2 in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
