After two games on the road, Carol City is heading back home. They will take on The Coral Reef Barracudas at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Last Saturday, Carol City took a serious blow against North Miami Beach, falling 49-7. Carol City was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.
Meanwhile, Coral Reef had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 points), and they went ahead and made it three two weeks ago. They didn't even let Sunset onto the board and left with a 26-0 win. The result was nothing new for Coral Reef, who have now won three matchups by 26 points or more so far this season.
Coral Reef can attribute much of their success to Deon Libby, who rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns. Libby was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards. Izaiah Roque was another key contributor, rushing for 101 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries.
Coral Reef's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Andres Quiroz and his two sacks.
Carol City has traveled a rocky road this season, as they've lost six of their first seven games, which leaves them at a 1-6 record this season. As for Coral Reef, their victory was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 5-2.
