Basketball Recap: Desert Sage Takes a Loss

After flying high against Varsity Opponent last Tuesday, Desert Sage came back down to earth. The Desert Sage Gila Monsters were beaten by Varsity Opponent 62-35 on Thursday. The game marked the Gila Monsters' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Desert Sage saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sote Huang posted 18 points. The matchup was Huang's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jayden Villanueva, who scored 14 points.

Desert Sage now has a losing record at 2-3.

Desert Sage will take on Varsity Opponent in a holiday battle at 5:30 p.m. on December 19th at. As for Varsity Opponent, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-45 defeat against Lead Hill on the 12th.
