The Montesano Bulldogs will face off against the Hoquiam Grizzlies at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Montesano's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Hoquiam has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
On Friday, Montesano made easy work of Forks and carried off a 10-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Grace Gooding made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Violet Prince looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Addison Kersker was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alexa Stanfield, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Montesano kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 11 consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Hoquiam lost 17-4 to Elma on Monday.
Montesano has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hoquiam, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9-1.
Montesano took their victory against Hoquiam in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-0 score. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Grizzlies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
