Baseball Recap: Manchester Takes a Loss

The Manchester Squires came up short against the Eastern Comets on Thursday and fell 16-13. The Squires have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ethan Hendrix was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-5 with one home run and three RBI. He has become a key player for Manchester: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 5-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Enyeart, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Manchester's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Eastern, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Manchester wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-0 win against Fort Wayne Wayne on the 2nd. As for Eastern, they have also already played their next match, an 11-1 victory against Maconaquah on the 3rd.
