The Faith Baptist Contenders will take on the Crossroads Roadrunners at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Faith Baptist has five straight victories, Crossroads has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Tuesday, Faith Baptist made easy work of Palmdale Academy Charter School and carried off an 18-1 win. The Contenders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by ten runs or more this season.
Hailey Coronel and Keira Correos made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Coronel pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Correos tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. At the plate, Coronel went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Correos got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most stolen bases Correos has posted since back in March.
