Minden hasn't had much luck against Lakeside recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Crimson Tide are taking a road trip to take on the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Lakeside took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Minden, who comes in off a win.
Minden will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Doyline on Thursday. The Crimson Tide were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Panthers. The victory continues a trend for the Crimson Tide in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won seven in a row.
Lindsay Ryan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ryan was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Lizzie Balkom was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Sky Savage, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Lakeside had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of Logansport by a score of 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Warriors have suffered against the Tigers since March 15, 2019.
Emily Jones and Maggie Mandino did some serious damage despite the final result: Jones went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Mandino went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Madilynn Squyres, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Minden came up short against Lakeside in their previous meeting back in April of 2025, falling 10-6. Can the Crimson Tide avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
