Central Lake pushed their score all the way to 70 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 80-70 to Inland Lakes.
Mancelona posted their biggest victory yet this season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 65-12 victory over Forest Area on the road. Given Mancelona's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 189th, while Forest Area is ranked 688th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Central Lake's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-8. As for Mancelona, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.
Central Lake came up short against Mancelona in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 54-42. Can Central Lake avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
