Floresville is 1-8 against Somerset since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Floresville Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Somerset Bulldogs at 7:45 p.m. Floresville will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Last Tuesday, Floresville didn't have too much trouble with Gregory-Portland at home as they won 51-37.
Floresville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amariah Ruiz led the charge by scoring 11 points along with six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenzie Huron, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Somerset, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 37-20 loss to Southwest on Tuesday.
Floresville's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Somerset, their loss dropped their record down to 6-15.
Floresville might still be hurting after the 59-36 loss they got from Somerset when the teams last played back in January. Can Floresville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
