York Institute breezed by Monterey on the road to the tune of 78-45 on Tuesday. Given York Institute's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while Monterey is ranked 419th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Smith County pushed their record up to 12-14 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for York Institute, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season.
