The Lake Worth Trojans suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 51-22 loss at the hands of Dr. Joaquin Garcia. Lake Worth was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-6.
Lake Worth lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Alexandra Reiman, who scored three points along with three steals. Reiman is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Milan Smith, who scored six points.
Dr. Joaquin Garcia found their leader in underclassman Lauren Vance, who scored 18 points. That's the first time this season that Vance scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aleesia Phillips, who scored ten points.
Lake Worth's loss was their eighth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.3 points per game. As for Dr. Joaquin Garcia, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-8.
Lake Worth will head out on the road to face off against Inlet Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Dr. Joaquin Garcia, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Dreyfoos School of the Arts at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Dreyfoos School of the Arts focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Thursday.
