On Thursday, the Colonial Grenadiers faced the Seffner Christian Crusaders in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Colonial snuck past Seffner Christian with a 48-44 win. Winning may never get old, but Colonial sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Colonial got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jalei O'neal out in front who scored seven points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Destinie Gordon, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Colonial is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Seffner Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 10-1.
Colonial won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy at 1:00 p.m. on December 22nd. Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 160th, while Colonial is ranked 12th). Seffner Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on George Jenkins at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
