On Monday, Huntley made easy work of Cary-Grove and carried off a 13-3 victory. The Red Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Gretchen Huber looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
At the plate, Madison Rozanski was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Isabella Boskey, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Huntley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 13-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Central's offense. They fell just short of Prairie Ridge by a score of 1-0 on Monday. The Rockets haven't had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Isabella Reed was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Central saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kelsey Covey, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base.
Huntley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-12 record this season. Everything went Huntley's way against Central when the teams last played back in April, as Huntley made off with a 9-2 victory. Will the Red Raiders repeat their success, or do the Rockets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
