The Innovation Academy The Red Tailed Hawk will be playing in front of their home fans against Prospect Hill Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Innovation Academy has six straight victories, Prospect Hill Academy has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Minuteman Regional scored an imposing 59 points on Friday, Innovation Academy still came out on top. Innovation Academy enjoyed a cozy 76-59 win over Minuteman Regional.
Innovation Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Bryce Kankam, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and four steals, and Derrick Twum, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points and 2 assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which Twum has scored at least a third of Innovation Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Sam Horace, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Prospect Hill Academy pushed their score all the way to 64 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 75-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of Neighborhood House Charter.
Innovation Academy pushed their record up to 6-3 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for Prospect Hill Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
Innovation Academy strolled past Prospect Hill Academy in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a score of 69-55. Will Innovation Academy repeat their success, or does Prospect Hill Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
