After a string of three wins, the Mesa Jackrabbits's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They received a tough blow as they fell 48-31 to Dobson. Mesa was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Dobson apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Mesa lost, one person who can't be blamed is Amya Bekele. Despite the final result, she scored six points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Dobson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amya Malone, who scored 11 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ahdiayh Chee, who scored 13 points.
Mesa's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-11. As for Dobson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.
Mesa will head out on the road to challenge Pinnacle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Pinnacle's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven games. As for Dobson, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Kellis at 7:00 p.m. Kellis is coming into the match with four straight wins on the road, so Dobson is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum.
