Leading by 22 points entering the fourth quarter didn't stop
Penns Grove (Carneys Point, N.J.) from scoring, as it added 14 points in the final quarter on the way to a 36-0 victory over Woodstown (N.J.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Nick Elmer to
Rich Gray in the first quarter, the Red Devils led 16-0 at the half.
Penns Grove expanded its lead to 22 points entering the fourth quarter. PG's lone score in the quarter came on a Elmer touchdown pass to
Jabrail Murray.
The Carneys Point school's most effective player was Elmer. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.
The victory will ease some of the sting of the Red Devils' close 14-12 loss to the Wolverines last season.
With the win Penns Grove extended its winning streak to four games.
Penns Grove (4-0) will play a non-conference game against Pitman next week, while Woodstown (2-2) will take on Pennsville Memorial also in a non-conference game.
