Mesa Vista came tearing into Thursday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 76-31 win over the Questa Wildcats. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' New Mexico basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Wildcats are ranked 132nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Questa's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Larry Roybal, who posted seven points and five rebounds. Urijah Griego was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Mesa Vista's victory bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Questa, they dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Mesa Vista wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 66-50 win against McCurdy on the 3rd. As for Questa, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-35 loss against Penasco on the 3rd.
