Scott Beumel and Navon Prince provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Woodson. The longest such play in DCIAA - Western this season, the connection resulted in 60 yards.
Wilson's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Beumel threw for 196 and one touchdown and Prince had 113 yards receiving. On the ground Jeremy Dixon chipped in 104 yards. Fox Darnell helped Wilson's passing attack out by catching four balls for 45 yards.
Dunbar's Lamal Matthews and Delonte Matthews have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Matthews has thrown for 823 yards this season, while Matthews, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 16 catches for 297 yards. Dixon from the Tigers leads the league in rushing with 761 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Wilson and Bell. Mark Martin's team enters the game ranked 14th in the state, while the Griffin ranks 22nd.
Two of the top units in DCIAA - Western will face off this week when the Crimson Tide take on Coolidge. Dunbar's offense has recorded 136 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Colts have permitted only 173 on the year.
The longest pass in the league this week came courtesy of the Tigers' Beumel. He connected with Prince on a 60-yard pass as Wilson fell to the Warriors.
