New Berlin Eisenhower is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Whitnall. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
One reason for the win was New Berlin Eisenhower's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17, 25-14.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Grafton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against Cudahy on Thursday as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Black Hawks not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 23rd (when they won 3-0).
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Grafton took every set by at least 15 points. The final score came out to 25-4, 25-5, 25-10.
New Berlin Eisenhower better focus on containing Abigail Barthelemy and Paige Arentz as the pair were huge in Grafton's win. Barthelemy had ten digs and two aces, while Arentz had 17 assists and four digs.
Grafton was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in eight consecutive matchups.
New Berlin Eisenhower's record now sits at 24-12. As for Grafton, their record is now 25-10.
