Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eugene). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Fayette Falcons a 16-0 shutout on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Drew Hart made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Sam Schulte was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jeffrey Schulte, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Eugene always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .720. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The victory got Eugene back to even at 6-6. As for Fayette, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-9.
