The Woodbury Royals will head out on the road to face off against the Irondale Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Wednesday, Woodbury lost to Stillwater at home by a decisive 73-54 margin. Woodbury has not had much luck with Stillwater recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, Irondale's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their eighth straight loss. The match between Irondale and White Bear Lake wasn't particularly close, with Irondale falling 78-63. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Friday (59), Irondale still had to take the loss.
Jake Dedominces put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 26 points. That was a full 41.3% of Irondale's points, marking the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Cameron Cramble, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Woodbury's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 8-9. As for Irondale, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.
Woodbury strolled past Irondale in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 81-65. The rematch might be a little tougher for Woodbury since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
