If the Lighthouse Prep Academy Eagles were riding high off their 49-25 takedown of the Heartland Christian Academy Eagles last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Lighthouse Prep Academy ended up on the wrong side of a rough 43-23 walloping at the hands of Christian Fellowship on Thursday. Lighthouse Prep Academy was down 34-14 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Despite the loss, Lighthouse Prep Academy still got an impressive performance from Madeline Hutchison, who scored 11 points. That was a full 47.8% of Lighthouse Prep Academy's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Christian Fellowship's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ariya Barton, who scored five points along with 13 steals and five assists. Barton has been hot recently, having posted five or more steals the last three times she's played. Kylie Babich was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Lighthouse Prep Academy dropped their record down to 5-8 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.7 points per game. As for Christian Fellowship, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-6.
Lighthouse Prep Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Christian Fellowship also has no future games currently scheduled.
