Jesuit is a perfect 7-0 against Cosumnes Oaks since June of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. Jesuit is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
Jesuit had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Davis Sr. on Wednesday. The Marauders blew past the Blue Devils 3-0.
Jesuit never let Davis Sr. on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-21, 25-22.
Jesuit can attribute much of their success to Luca McGlynn, who had 28 assists and four digs, and Roman Schwarzinger, who had ten assists and four digs. That's the most digs Schwarzinger has posted since back in March. Zachary Maples also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.
Meanwhile, Cosumnes Oaks lost 3-0 to Sheldon on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wolfpack have suffered against the Huskies since March 30, 2022.
While Cosumnes Oaks was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-21, 25-12.
Cosumnes Oaks has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-12 record this season. As for Jesuit, their win bumped their record up to 22-12.
Jesuit took their victory against Cosumnes Oaks when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Marauders repeat their success, or do the Wolfpack have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
