Fischer Franck Delivers Best Effort of Season
On Friday, Calhoun got the W thanks in part to Fischer Franck playing the best football he has all season. Franck rushed for 216 yards and four touchdowns on only nine carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now rushed for 110 or more in the last seven games he's played.
Calhoun pushed their record up to 6-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Franck and Calhoun will venture away from home to face off against Davenport at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Alex Estrada Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Alex Estrada produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Bay City to the win on Thursday. Estrada threw for 323 yards and seven touchdowns on perfect 18-for-18 passing, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Thanks to that strong showing, he's now averaging 3.2 passing touchdowns per game. He is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for four or more in the last three games he's played.
The victory was the ninth in a row for Bay City, bringing their record for this year to 10-1. Estrada and Bay City will face off against Canyon Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Garza Made His Presence Known in La Vernia's 49-17 Victory
Sean Garza was instrumental in extending La Vernia's winning streak to four on Friday. Garza was dynamite, rushing for 199 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played.
La Vernia's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Garza and La Vernia will welcome LBJ Austin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Darrik Salinas Turns in Season-Best Performance
Calhoun was led to victory by Darrik Salinas, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Salinas rushed for 108 yards and two touchdowns. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 55 yards.
Unfortunately for Zapata, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Salinas. Back in November of 2023 (the last time Salinas saw the Hawks), he picked up 71 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 47 yards.

Bay City Wins Ninth-Straight Thanks to Xylan Williams
Bay City picked up their ninth consecutive win on Thursday thanks in part to Xylan Williams. Williams was unstoppable, picking up 88 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more receiving touchdowns the last three times he's played.
On the year, Williams has caught 17 touchdowns while averaging 87.7 receiving yards per game.
