The Stafford Trojans''s seven-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They blew past Satanta 68-38 at home. The victory was just what Stafford needed coming off of a 48-16 loss in their prior matchup.
Jacob Simmons had a dynamite game for Stafford, rushing for 99 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 332 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Kerschenske, who picked up 131 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Stafford's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for eight sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Axel Ortiz and Alexis Garcia who racked up five sacks between them.
Stafford's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Satanta, their loss was their ninth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 0-9.
Stafford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Satanta is also done with their season.
