The Sylacauga Aggies can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They snuck past Opelika with a 57-52 win.
Revish Bardwell was the offensive standout of the game as he dropped a double-double on 18 points and 24 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Sylacauga's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cj Franklin, who scored 12 points.
Sylacauga's win bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Opelika, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sylacauga will square off against Gadsden City at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Gadsden City presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sylacauga in Alabama (Gadsden City is ranked 51st, while Sylacauga is ranked 223rd). As for Opelika, they will head out on the road to face off against Lanett at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lanett will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
