St. Joseph has gone 8-1 against Ridgefield recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Cadets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
St. Joseph is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 21-2 margin over Greenwich on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Cadets sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Katie Dzialo made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

In other batting news, St. Joseph got a massive performance out of MacKenzie Caouette, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave Caouette a new career-high. Gina Coppola was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs and three RBI.
St. Joseph always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .574. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Ridgefield entered their tilt with Westhill on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Vikings 12-6.
Caitlin McGratty spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Ridgefield let Grace Couch and Sonia Gaughran run wild. Couch got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Gaughran went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That stolen base was Gaughran's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jada Metzger, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
St. Joseph pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Ridgefield, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. St. Joseph hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .364. However, it's not like Ridgefield struggles in that department as they've averaged .393. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
St. Joseph was able to grind out a solid win over Ridgefield in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 5-2. Will the Cadets repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
