The North Atlanta Warriors will take on the Peachtree Ridge Lions in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Friday at. Peachtree Ridge took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on North Atlanta, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, North Atlanta strolled past South Cobb with points to spare, taking the game 48-31. The victory was just what North Atlanta needed coming off of a 77-28 loss in their prior game.
North Atlanta's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Quen Daniel led the charge by scoring 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Jade Gamory, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Peachtree Ridge had to suffer through a rough 56-23 loss at the hands of Central Gwinnett. While losing is never fun, Peachtree Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 377th, while Central Gwinnett is ranked 54th).
North Atlanta's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-6. As for Peachtree Ridge, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
North Atlanta came up short against Peachtree Ridge when the teams last played back in December of 2017, falling 40-29. Can North Atlanta avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
