Baseball Recap: Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Brocton, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's match. The Wolfpack blew past the Bulldogs 12-1 on Friday. Considering the Wolfpack have won nine contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Gavin Burchanowski made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama got a massive performance out of Bryce Hinsdale, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Hinsdale a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Spiesman, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama pushed their record up to 9-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Brocton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clymer Central/Sherman/Panama will welcome Cassadaga Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Brocton, they will host Frewsburg at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bears will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
