The Crockett Cougars had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 46 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They blew past Eastside Early College 47-0 at home. The result was nothing new for Crockett, who have now won five contests by 34 points or more so far this season.
Cameron Dickey continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 211 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries, while also throwing for 109 yards and a touchdown on only ten passes. Dickey's longest rush was for an incredible 83 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamari Wilson, who picked up 126 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Eastside Early College to a paltry 22 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Crockett's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Caleb Dickey and his two sacks.
Crockett's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Eastside Early College, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crockett will take on Northeast Early College at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Eastside Early College, they will look to defend their home field on October 27th against LBJ Austin at 7:30 p.m. LBJ Austin has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 230 points over their last four games.
