The Sunrise Mountain Mustangs''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 37-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Canyon View. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Vanden Dugger threw for 293 yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a rushing score. Logan Russell was his top target, picking up 72 receiving yards. On the ground, Parker Owens rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown.
Sunrise Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Canyon View, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-5.
Sunrise Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Canyon View will head out on the road to face off against Horizon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Horizon will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
