Mammoth fell just short of California City by a score of 46-43. Mammoth has not had much luck with California City recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
California City found their leader in underclassman Avery 'Skywalker' Spears, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds. Those nine rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Ty'Ron 'Eraser' Jones, who scored two points along with 18 rebounds and four blocks.
Mammoth's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for California City, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mammoth will take on Desert at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Desert is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for California City, they will be playing at home against Bishop Union at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Bishop Union's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches.
