Miami East has won 12 straight games at home, while Covington has won 12 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Vikings will host the Buccs at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Miami East's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Milton-Union 16-0. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Jacqueline Kadel made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. Kadel was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Miami East kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Covington got the win against Lehman Catholic on Friday by a conclusive 13-0.
Emalyn Johnson was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Palsgrove, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Covington is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Miami East, their victory bumped their record up to 18-3.
Covington's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Miami East has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.2 hits per game. It's a different story for Covington, though, as they've been averaging 10 hits. Given Miami East's sizable advantage in that area, the Buccs will need to find a way to close that gap.
Miami East beat Covington 9-6 in their previous meeting back in April. Do the Vikings have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Buccs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
