The Northside Grizzlies had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They slipped by Har-Ber 64-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Erianna Gooden, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hazley Grotjohn, who scored 19 points.
Northside's win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Har-Ber, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.
Coincidentally, Northside and the Wildcats will both be playing the Mountaineers the next time they take the court. Northside will host the Mountaineers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Wildcats will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
