It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Central Yellowjackets ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They managed a 77-71 victory over Houston. The victory was just business as usual for Central, who after three games remain undefeated this season.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Anna lee Avery, who scored 20 points along with 4 steals. Avery scored a full 28.2% of Houston's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Amani Lipscomb was another key contributor, scoring 25 points.
Central's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Houston, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
Central will take on Clarksville Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Houston is on the road again on Saturday and play against Webster County at 12:30 p.m. on December 2nd.
