Crescent is 0-8 against Quilcene since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Crescent Loggers will be home for the holidays to greet the Quilcene Rangers at 5:45 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Crescent has five straight wins, Quilcene has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Crescent earned a 44-33 win over Ocosta.
Crescent's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ciara Cargo-Acosta, who scored 16 points along with three blocks. The matchup was Cargo-Acosta's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Audrey Gales, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Quilcene kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 45-18 loss at the hands of Rainier Christian.
Crescent's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Quilcene, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1.
Things could have been worse for Crescent, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 40-26 loss to Quilcene in their previous matchup back in January of 2020. Can Crescent avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
